Deep Blue Cleanup has been advising Professor Lisa Meyer’s Communication Skills for Engineering Students course (CCDP 2100), at Carleton University the past three semesters. The course objective is to help engineering students develop written and oral communication skills required in a professional engineering role. Our volunteers have been working as advisors with the Ottawa Eco-Talent Network (OETN)- Melanie Abdelnour and Scott Barker as teaching advisors helping the students link their material to Ontario curriculum, and Hannah Beckstead advising students on how to create blog material.

For this course, there is a term project in which each group is assigned an environmentally sustainable engineering-based method. The team members must break down the method and create both written and video material to both explain the method as well as the science behind it.

The final summaries and video presentation prepared for this course will be featured in our Deep Blue Blog and provided to high school teachers to be shared with their students. Check out the upcoming posts to see the Fall 2020 Semester’s CCDP 2100 students’ findings!
